Businesses in St Blazey and surrounding districts will soon have the chance to join a new local community initiative – ‘Town Team’.
The Teams can apply for funding and support to improve the area and boost the economy of the town and surrounding districts.
Acting chairman is Fred Jackson, Project manager at St Blazey Football club.
The ‘town team’ are already into a spruce up and tidy the area campaign, a bid to improve signage, moves to provide business training, a job club and brainstorming how to build up tourism.
Local Business man James Kittow, from well known Kittows butchers, is set to take up the seat of acting vice chairman whilst local businesswoman Penny Laine has taken up the role of administrator for the team.
So far the town team have been looking at building on business-friendly aspects of St Blazey, like the free parking, and how to take on challenges like the plans for out of town supermarkets.
There’ll be an inaugural meeting on March 26th: if you’d like an invite ring Fred Jackson on 07734151245 or email fred.jackson448 @btinternet.com for details. 😀
