A couple have died in mysterious circumstances at their Cornish home.
Jonathan and Derisa Trenchard were found yesterday at their Polwithen Drive bungalow in Carbis Bay, St Ives.
They’d packed off their 13 year old son to school and walked their three King Charles Spaniels that same morning.
Then not long after 11am the alarm was raised when neither John, 50, nor Derisa, 48, turned up at their jobs.
John worked in a local factory and Derisa as a secretary for a firm of lawyers.
The couple were found dead not long before midday. There are online rumours their 13 year old son Joel made the traumatic discovery.
The couple have two grown up sons; Christopher, who’s 26, and Josh, who’s 23.
Police today (Thurs) moved to put to rest fear in the local community that the couple were killed.
But no definite answers have yet been given as to whether they died by accident, their own hand, or someone else’s.
A force spokeswoman said: “At this time, Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.”
But she went on: “Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are continuing with their enquiries.
“The deceased are believed to be in their 40s and were related. Formal ID has not yet been carried out. Post mortems will take place today, 3 October 2013.
“At 1133 on Wednesday 2 October 2013 St Ives police attended Polwithen Drive St Ives following a report of concern for the occupants.
“Enquires at the address led to the discovery of a body of a man and a woman.”
The local community’s in shock.
A neighbour, who insisted they not be named, said: “It’s really upsetting. It’s just sinking in now. Everyone was really worried there had been a murder and lots of us still are.
“No-one seems to really know yet what happened.”
