A COTTAGE INDUSTRY?

Police nicked a 44 year old Cornishwoman on suspicion of building a ‘cannabis factory’ in her rural Cornish cottage.

The bust near Indian Queens today (Monday) appears to have come after a tip-off.

A police spokeswoman revealed: “A 44-year-old local woman was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis at a property near Indian Queens earlier today, Monday, 30 July 2012.

“The woman was arrested after officers executed a search warrant at a rural cottage.

“On arrival, officers discovered a cannabis factory and the woman was arrested and taken to Newquay Police Station.

“She was later released on Police bail until 9 October 2012 pending forensic analysis.”

Newquay Inspector Ian Drummond-Smith said of the arrest: “We always act on good information.

“Anyone can report drug dealers to us by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

    Adam Collier said of this post: “It costs the tax payer between £42,000 and £55,000 thousand pounds per year just to keep someone in prison, add to that the amount of police time wasted enforcing this law, the fact the “criminal” would not be paying income tax (most cannabis smokers are employed). City streets in this country are no go areas at night because they are covered in drunks but the police concentrate on “crimes” like this, that’s retarded.”
