The family of a Cornish father killed in a town centre crash last week made a poignant tribute to their lost relative.
Newquay man Jason Sandford’s relatives said of the 33 year old simply: “To live in the hearts of those you love is not to die.”
Jason passed away in Treliske after coming off his bicycle in St Mary’s Road, Newquay, last Wednesday.
The well-liked local leaves a daughter, Saffron (pictured above).
An inquest will be held into Jason’s death, which didn’t involve any other vehicles.
A police spokesman confirmed: “A 33-year-old man was killed when the cycle he was riding was involved in a collision in Newquay.
“The incident occurred at around 6.40pm on Monday 16 July 2012 at St Mary’s Road in the town. No other vehicles were involved.
“The man suffered serious injuries at the scene and was taken to Treliske Hospital by air ambulance where he died a short time later.”
Local police told reporters the victim was not wearing a cycle helmet and warned cyclists to always don safety gear before heading out.
