FREAK OF THE WEEK?

Police are hunting some fraggle who tried to mug a 12 year old.

The unusual incident happened at around 3.45pm on Wednesday of this week in St Austell.

Investigating officers say they think the mugger was around 19 years old.

The attacker struck in broad daylight in Polmarth Close, St Austell.

A police spokeswoman said: “A 12 year old girl was walking in the area when she was approached by a man who put his hand over her mouth.

“The suspect demanded her mobile phone. She refused and the offender then pushed her before running off.

“The girl was uninjured but obviously shaken as a result of the incident.”

The young girl says the suspect is white, aged approximately nineteen years, 5’6” in height with dark brown hair.

She remembers him wearing a grey black hooded top with the hood up and black tracksuit bottoms.
