HAYLEY, 17, IS TRAGIC CRASH VICTIM

A Cornish teenager’s died and her friend is fighting for her life in hospital after a crash at the weekend.

Hayley Lane was just seventeen.

The Liskeard youngster was killed outright when her Peugeot hatchback crashed near Sheviock at Torpoint early on Saturday morning.

The friend she was driving with escaped with her life but was taken to hospital with ‘critical’ injuries.

Investigating officers spent all of the day gathering forensic evidence and are hoping witnesses might come forward.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police and other emergency services attended a serious road traffic collision on the A374 at Sheviock, Torpoint.

“One car crashed at 0814 hours on the morning of Saturday 28th January 2012.

“There were two occupants. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the other lady is in a critical condition at Derriford Hospital.

“The single vehicle involved in the collision was a Peugeot 106. Both occupants were from the local area
