WOMAN ACCUSED IN VILLAGE ‘MURDER BID’

A Cornishwoman’s been arrested and jailed on suspicion of trying to murder another local lady.

The drama unfolded after an apparent outbreak of violence in Lizard village over the weekend.

A police spokesman explained: “Officers were called to The Square at around 8pm on Saturday, 21 January 2012 following reports of a disturbance.

“On arrival, they found a 35-year-old Helston woman with minor injuries.

“A 40-year-old woman was later charged with two offences of attempted murder.

“Karen Orchard, of The Lizard, appeared at Truro Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday).

“She was remanded in custody to appear at Truro Crown Court tomorrow, Wednesday, 25 January 2012.”
